About
Aside from reading widely, I enjoy working with my hands: gardening, woodworking and
baking. All kinds of music appeal to me, especially the music that gets made in my
house by my husband and sons playing piano and guitar. I prefer the company of children
to that of most adults, and it's pretty easy to make me laugh.
Fun Facts
What do you like most about your field?
I had to do a lot of different jobs before figuring out that I mostly wanted to be
a librarian. I have been a farmhand, a factory worker, a mail carrier, a ninth grade
teacher of English and French, and a paralegal. The fun thing about being a librarian
is that I get to help connect people with the information they seek.
Involvement
I'm a volunteer storyteller (not a story reader!) in local elementary schools. It
promotes literacy, and it brings me a lot of joy. I love to see children's eyes light
up as they connect words and images in their own bright imaginations.
