Anna Darr to present senior recital at Ouachita April 3

Ouachita Baptist University will host Anna Darr in her senior musical theatre recital on Tuesday, April 3. The recital will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Ouachita’s McBeth Recital Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center and is free and open to the public.

Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Art and Design will host seniors Kinzie Schmidt, Miranda Hudleston and Zhanxiu Lu as they showcase their senior art exhibits. At each of these exhibits, admission is free and open to the public.

Hannah Hill (at left) was selected as a finalist in the festival’s Musical Theatre Initiative Singing/Acting Competition; she was nominated for her role in Ouachita’s production of The Secret Garden.

Two Ouachita students named finalists in Kennedy Center theatre competition

Two Ouachita Baptist University students were selected as finalists in auditions at the Region 6 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF). Students from Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, attended the festival, which was held recently in San Angelo, Texas.

Nine students from Ouachita Baptist University were named finalists at the 2018 Arkansas National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) recently held at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Five of these students earned first place honors.

Ouachita Baptist University’s Carl Goodson Honors Program and the Alpha Tau Honor Society recently hosted the Honors Black and White Reception to recognize students’ hard work and award travel research grants to seven students.

Ouachita Baptist University teams won first, second and fourth place in this year’s OBU/HSU Business Plan Competition, hosted on Henderson State University’s campus Feb. 12. Chandler Blake and Chris Clark earned the $4,000 first place prize for their WinterTerm.com proposal.
